important reminders for dog owners

One of the members of the Corgi-L listserv recently reminded the group that knowing canine CPR can potentially save the life of a pet that's in distress. While I'm sure there are other sites with this information, the simple steps are posted here.

This also reminded me of a first aid post that used to be accessible via the Corgi-L web site. I've not seen it there for a while, but an archived copy is available. Even though it's called travel advice it's equally applicable at home, and it's not Corgi-specific. We've kept a printout handy--knowing there is a place to look for quick information is calming, particularly when something happens and you don't have time to Google or otherwise search for guidance.
