such good chocolate
I've long preferred dark chocolate to milk chocolate. At best, white chocolate doesn't do anything for me; at worst, it turns my stomach.
Late last semester, Julee, my friend with great taste in so many things, sent me a care package: two bars of dark chocolate and a box of Ak-Maks. The Ak-Maks were sent in response to my "what's an Ak-Mak" question*; the chocolate was meant to sustain me through my final exams. Rather than nibbling throughout the exam period, I decided to save them as a reward for exams completed, and my, they are rewarding.
Chocovic, a Barcelona-based producer, produces these varietal chocolate bars and they're delectable. Delicately flavorful. I highly recommend them. A single square (there are eight squares, I think, in a bar), alone or with a cup of coffee, is a lovely treat.
* And to those of you now asking the question, Ak-Maks the "original Armenian cracker bread," are a stone ground, whole wheat cracker from the Ak-Mak Bakeries (the Soojian family) in Sanger, California. No preservatives, bleaches, or bromates.
